Interpretability idea: cluster texts by firing circuits, not surface tokens
Sauers_ · x · 2026-10-21
An interpretability researcher proposes a new angle: instead of examining the text where neurons fire, look for text where the underlying circuit activates in a similar way, hypothesizing that neuron behavior has circuit-context-dependent effects. No experiments yet, but it flags a possible blind spot in clustering activations by surface text alone.
