A Reddit post titled "Sad But True" shares a Google Trends screenshot: over the past 12 months OpenAI consistently out-searched DeepSeek worldwide, but by mid-October 2026 DeepSeek's web search interest crossed above OpenAI's, with the 12-month average gap also narrowing.
