ChatGPT's new UI keeps attaching wrong photos to real people, user reports
ProfessionalAd1198 · reddit · 2026-10-21
A Reddit user reports that ChatGPT's new Intelligent UI frequently attaches wrong real photos to real people. Comparing three mayoral candidates, the written info was mostly relevant but photos were entirely wrong — one showed an Ontario politician not even in the race, and clicking led to an IDCrawl page about someone else. In a fresh chat, info panels had roughly correct biographies but wildly mismatched images, including a comedian's 2026 tour ad. A control test with nine famous physicists returned all correct photos, suggesting lesser-known people with fewer online images are more error-prone. The issue, reproduced across two conversations, is photo retrieval/misattribution, not AI image generation.
