Nobody wants to sell compute: DeepSeek only wants GPUs, xAI is 8 months behind and renting out
Linahuaa · x · 2026-10-21
Commenting on the compute crunch, Linahuaa argues no major player wants to sell compute — DeepSeek won't even take investors because money can't buy GPUs. He pushes back on the bull case that SpaceX's rented-out compute clusters (6-12 month payback, future Terafab chips) make it the world's most valuable company, noting xAI's model is 8 months behind and so underused that Elon has to sell the compute once hailed as his unique advantage — a position none of the big players would trade into.
