Fireworks AI is teaming up with Microsoft and NVIDIA for a San Francisco buildathon on Nov 2. The challenge: pick a task, build an eval with your own or public data, and beat a frontier model on quality, latency or cost using specialized open models — training, smarter harnesses or routing all allowed.
Prizes: $10K for 1st, $5K for 2nd, $3K for 3rd. Teams of 2-5, registration requires approval, and doors close at capacity. The event runs from 9AM doors to 7PM demos and awards.
