Reddit user on months of AI-assisted thinking: dictate, refine, then edit yourself
SpeedyDog · reddit · 2026-10-21
A Reddit user describes how AI has changed his thinking workflow over recent months: he dictates raw ideas aloud, has AI polish them into structured text, then personally edits the result.
He sees this dictate-refine-edit loop as a genuine strength — great for capturing ideas before they slip away — with AI acting as an excellent secretary and editor. Used this way, it avoids producing "AI slop". He doesn't view it as a threat to independent thought, since he can always correct mistakes, and it saves significant time while making his ideas clearer for his audience.
