Modal revives multiplayer game Curvytron to demo its new Sticky Sessions routing
charles_irl · x · 2026-10-21
Modal engineer Daniel Shaar explains the team revived Curvytron, his favorite multiplayer Tron-like game, using Sticky Sessions — the session-sticky routing primitive they recently shipped. The accompanying article Serverless routing made sticky (by Siwon Park, Kartik Sinha, Kathir Meyyappan, Shaar) covers how Modal's serverless compute auto-scales for real-time inference, training and batch jobs, and how sticky routing handles stateful connections. The game is playable at curvytron.modal.dev.
