One rewriting rule grows a 46,367-branch forest — a code-only film by Opus, open sourced
prasenx · x · 2026-10-21
The author had Opus 5.5 grow a 45-second film from a single L-system rewriting rule: one line becomes a tree, fern, lightning, a river delta, lungs, and a forest — 46,367 branches, all drawn and scored in code, no images. The rule X(n) → F(n) [X(n−1)] [X(n−2)] keeps each branch going while spawning smaller side branches; the count is a Fibonacci number minus one. Open sourced at StarKnightt/one-rule with full source and 1080p output.
