WSJ has seen Anthropic's new draft prospectus, revealing staggering compute commitments:
- Roughly $750 billion in planned compute spending over the next 7-10 years
- Contracts include $111B with Google Cloud, $110B with AWS, $31B with Microsoft, $86B with Nscale and Lambda, $160B with Broadcom, plus $150B in additional deals under negotiation
- Andrew Curran notes xAI/Colossus is absent from the list — the previously reported $85B deal through 2029 (cancellable on 90 days notice) may have been dropped
- About one-fifth of H1 revenue went to compute costs
Nina Schick's takeaway: the limiting factor on the road to superintelligence is compute.
