One L-system rule grows a tree, fern, lightning, river and lungs in a 45s code film
prasenx · x · 2026-10-21
Developer prasenx open-sourced 'one-rule', a 45-second 1080p/60fps film drawn and synthesized entirely in code. A single rewriting rule, X(n) → F(n)[X(n−1)][X(n−2)], iterated from X(22) yields 46,367 branches (a Fibonacci number minus one) — the same structure morphs across scenes into a tree, fern, lightning, river delta, lungs and a forest, with no model swaps. Built with Claude's help; repo on GitHub.
