Anthropic draft prospectus: $80.7B net loss, up to $750B future compute spend

WSJ scooped Anthropic's new draft prospectus: an $80.7B net loss and up to $750B in potential future compute spending, alongside red-hot revenue growth and extensive risk disclosures. But the WSJ waterfall chart shows the bulk of the net loss is the change in fair value of convertible notes and other instruments — a non-cash accounting item — while the actual operating loss (driven by compute, personnel, and sales/marketing) is far smaller. The poster notes you need to back out the non-cash charge to see the true picture.
