Librarian Agents: RL-trained agents build file systems, lifting RAG accuracy 44%→77%
simonguozirui · x · 2026-10-21
A new paper, Librarian Agents (supported by Tinker grants), tackles how LLMs in specialized domains—enterprise codebases, law firms—dig through mountains of unstructured context. The authors let agents adapt by curating their own long-context workspace via RL, building file systems in anticipation of other agents' future queries.
Result: subsequent RAG accuracy jumps from 44% to 77%. A step toward agents learning to prepare information environments for their teammates.
