Dev warns AI actively misguides electronics wiring due to built-in cable color bias

A developer shared a frustrating experience: while repurposing a Nokia data cable into a UART/serial adapter, he asked AI to help identify tx/rx lines to avoid releasing magic smoke — only for the model to actively misguide him into connecting data and voltage lines wrong, apparently due to an inbuilt cable-color bias.
His takeaway: never rely on AI for electronics wiring. Unlike code, wiring hallucinations are hard to spot and mistakes can physically destroy hardware.
