LukeW maps the five UI problems every AI-native company faces with agents
LukeW · x · 2026-10-21
Luke Wroblewski argues every AI-native company is wrestling with the same agentic UI needs: tracking many agents in real time, showing what agents accomplished, keeping design coherent via agent instructions, human+agent multiplayer collaboration, and asset-creation tools inside agent workflows.
Drawing on his agent coordination tool Intent, he argues chat threads break at the scale of agents managing agents, and more specific, dynamic views work better:
- Agents draw architecture maps, flowcharts and state machines in notes, so you review the plan before spending tokens
- Stepped walk-throughs move through a diagram stage by stage with explanations and clickable references
- Agents take before/after screenshots of UI changes side by side, letting you judge results without reading code
- Notes can update with each change or persist as historical records
Generic inbox/dashboard management views get the attention, but these dynamic views may be more useful.
