OXR: open-source 1.3B doc parser tops olmOCR-Bench, parses 100 pages in 101s
aftahi_ai · x · 2026-10-21
SoMark released OXR, an open-source 1.3B document-parsing model pretrained from scratch that turns PDFs and scans into agent-friendly Markdown/JSON with layout coordinates — handling tables, formulas, handwriting and chemical structures. It ranks #1 on olmOCR-Bench, OmniDocBench and DocParsingBench, and is the fastest open-source parser: 100 pages in 101 seconds on one RTX PRO 6000 (vs 1,557.8s for Chandra-OCR-2). It uses a recursive self-improvement (RSI) loop during post-training, claimed as a first in document parsing.
