How to turn off AirPods Announce Notifications: two steps in Settings

Following his complaint that AirPods' Announce Notifications is one of the worst product experiences, Nick Baumann shares Apple's official fix: on iOS 15+, go to Settings > Notifications > Announce Notifications and toggle it off, or add it to Control Center for a quick switch. When enabled, Siri automatically announces time-sensitive and direct-message notifications.
