Snap Hires Robert Downey Jr. as Chief Customer Experience Officer to Sell Specs AR Glasses Against Meta

Snap has enlisted Robert Downey Jr. — best known as Iron Man, the character that popularized AR glasses — as its "Chief Customer Experience Officer" for Specs, releasing clips of him using the device's AR features. The timing lands one month before Avengers: Doomsday (Dec. 18), where Downey returns to the franchise.
One clip shows Downey discarding a suitcase full of "AI glasses," a clear jab at Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, which some have dubbed "creepy glasses." It's the latest chapter in the Evan Spiegel–Zuckerberg rivalry dating back to Snap's rejected $3B acquisition offer in 2013.
