The new Acquired episode on Seinfeld quotes an HBR interview gem. Asked whether McKinsey-style consultants could help him find a more sustainable writing model, Seinfeld fired back: "Who's McKinsey?" "Are they funny?" — then: "If you're efficient, you're doing it the wrong way. The right way is the hard way. The show was successful because I micromanaged it — every word, every line, every take, every edit, every casting." Food for thought for creation in the AI era.
