Discrete actions beat continuous ones for fine robot control, FAR study shows
peterxichen · x · 2026-10-21
Research shared by FAR challenges the intuition that discretized actions lose precision: on fine motions (<5mm per step), discrete action heads are more precise than continuous ones (3.2 vs 5.4mm single-step; 3.7 vs 4.6mm with flow), showing binning is not a precision bottleneck in robot control.
