Nvidia Joined 84 AI Funding Rounds This Year, Twice Its 2024 Total, Feeding Chip Demand

Per the State of AI report (data from Dealroom and Hugging Face), Nvidia participated in 84 AI funding rounds this year, roughly double its 2024 total. Its investments and acquisitions span $294bn across 159 companies (including $122bn into OpenAI and $30bn into xAI), complemented by open-source models with 46m downloads and optimizations of other labs' models. Competing with Nvidia increasingly means competing with its whole ecosystem — it is helping build the market for its own chips.
