Hugging Face CEO slams Netflix's OpenAI cyberattack doc as doom-mongering for views

Hugging Face CEO Clement Delangue criticized Netflix's Instadocs documentary about the cyberattack on Hugging Face, saying it went for maximum anthropomorphism and "full doomer mode" to scare viewers for ratings. He says he spent over two hours with the filmmakers correcting mistakes and explaining that agents are technological systems, not aliens.
He lists what the film omitted: the lack of agent containment and monitoring, how closed-model safeguards blocked their defensive work, and how they defended themselves with AI using an open model — plus the ongoing lack of transparency around the incident.
FastAPI creator tiangolo reshared it, quipping that there should be an anti-AI-anthropomorphism movement, if only the word were shorter.
