Cloudflare and VoidZero introduce tsrs, a Rust port of TypeScript up to 8x faster with 70% less memory

Cloudflare and VoidZero, working with Max Schwenk of Owner.com, unveiled tsrs, a Rust port of the TypeScript compiler incubated within the Oxc toolchain — explicitly not a fork, built in close collaboration with the TypeScript team, which retains full control over the language's design.
Key points:
- Performance: up to 8x faster and 70% less memory than TypeScript 7.0 with the same type-check workers; the official TS 7.1 beta is already up to 2.5x faster than 7.0, partly from optimizations upstreamed from tsrs.
- Portability: runs in WASM, enabling full type checking in the browser and on Cloudflare Workers.
- Philosophy: the port strictly follows the original implementation so it won't drift from official TS decisions.
Try it with npx tsrs.
