Walden Robotics lets robots 'phone a friend' mid-task, turning human help into training data

Walden Robotics demonstrated a 'phone a friend' capability: robots detect when they're stuck mid-execution and call a remote human assistant. In the demo, a robot scanning a transparent product on the wrong side calls for help; the intervention unsticks it and is logged as training data to improve the next deployment. The team says making this work reliably was significant engineering effort and calls it a major unlock.
