BlackBerry's QNX royalty backlog tops $1.2B, Alloy Kore OS lands $100M+ design win

BlackBerry announced its QNX division has exceeded $1.2 billion in royalty backlog, a new record and up more than $250 million (26%+) from roughly $950 million at the end of fiscal 2026.
- Growth is driven by strong adoption of QNX SDP 8.0 and the first design win for Alloy Kore, QNX's foundational automotive OS, valued at over $100 million in estimated future royalties — the largest design win in QNX history.
- As automakers consolidate vehicle functions onto centralized and domain-based compute platforms, QNX can support multiple software domains and instances per vehicle, raising per-vehicle software content and royalty value.
- QNX is also expanding into general embedded markets and Physical AI, including robotics, industrial automation, and medical devices.
