Microsoft Research's AI for Science team has released a public preview of BioEmu2, a new foundation model for biomolecular structure, dynamics, and function that scalably emulates biomolecular dynamics. It ships with open weights under the MIT license. Frank Noe shared demo footage of BioEmu2 simulating the binding of the intrinsically disordered peptide PUMA to the MCL-1 receptor — a notable step for AI-driven molecular simulation with direct implications for drug discovery and protein function research.
