AI note-taking app Granola is launching a new event series, Internet Icons, debuting in London, featuring conversations with pioneers who shaped the internet. First guests include Eben Upton, co-founder and CEO of Raspberry Pi, and Julia Whitney, who led design of the original BBC iPlayer.
Sarah Drinkwater, who will interview Whitney, frames it as a contrast between old and new media: legacy media meant one channel, one format and limited business models, while today creators operate as studios, IP flows in from everywhere, audiences act as distributors, and new business models are emerging.
