Anthropic's next model reportedly intuits unstated intent, fixes bug classes unprompted
yangyi · x · 2026-10-20
Per The Information (Oct 19), Anthropic is preparing a new model with reasoning and "intuition" beyond anything it currently ships, based on a source who has used it. The company declined to comment.
Two reported shifts: it infers unstated user intent from minimal input — ask it to fix one bug and it may identify the whole class of related bugs and offer to fix them all; and it gives less canned advice — asked about stock investing, it might design its own price-prediction algorithm rather than recite P/E clichés.
The reposter argues this mind-reading direction could make it easier to fool users who lack judgment.
