Economy of Minds: agents bid in auctions and pay each other to self-organize without a central orchestrator
May_F1_ · x · 2026-10-20
The Economy of Minds paper replaces the central multi-agent orchestrator with market mechanisms inspired by Hayek: agents compete via auctions for the right to act, exchange payments peer-to-peer, and evolve through economic selection. This yields decentralized credit assignment and self-organizing collective intelligence, avoiding the bottleneck and single point of failure of manager-based designs as agent count and task complexity grow. Paper and code are available.
