Anthropic in Talks for Second $45B Nscale Deal, Doubling WV Reservation to 920MW

Anthropic is negotiating a second $45B compute deal with Nscale that would double its West Virginia reservation to 920MW.
- The new 460MW building at Nscale's Monarch Compute Campus would run Nvidia Vera Rubin chips; Anthropic also holds right of first refusal on an expected third building
- The first contract, signed in August, is a 6-year 460MW lease with delivery starting late 2027 — averaging $7.5B/year, about $16.3M per MW
- Monarch's first phase is designed for 1.35GW across 3 buildings; Anthropic could end up taking the entire initial development
- Nscale's IPO filing lists Anthropic agreements worth up to $44.6B; the second deal strengthens its listing pitch but depends on on-schedule energizing and Vera Rubin rack delivery in late 2027
