Framing Cancer Survival Prognosis as VQA: PET Scans + PSA Predict 24-Month Survival
maier_ak · x · 2026-10-20
A team from TUM and Bern University Hospital casts survival prognosis after PSMA radioligand therapy as a visual question answering task: baseline and interim PET/SPECT scans, PSA values, and a clinical query go in, and the model outputs a 24-month survival prediction complete with error bars. The approach is described in the paper "Asking the Scan a Question: A Survival Model for PSMA Therapy, Read With Its Error Bars".
