Charlie Marsh: models can mine published literature for algorithms, one-shotting a 12,000x speedup
Vjeux · x · 2026-10-20
Charlie Marsh (creator of Ruff) shares a real workflow he now uses: asking models to find interesting ideas from published literature that can be productionized to improve his software.
He says Astra can discover and one-shot something called "Minato-Morreale ISOP recurrence," making his code 12,000x faster. "We are living in such an incredible time," he writes — a glimpse of AI agents automating literature-to-engineering optimization.
