Rutgers and IBM Steer 100 Qubits Toward Order With Mid-Circuit Feedback
Brighter-Side-News · reddit · 2026-10-20
An experiment by Rutgers, IBM and collaborators, published in Nature Physics, used mid-circuit measurement and feedback to steer up to 100 qubits from scrambling toward an orderly state, demonstrating coordination between gates, measurements and feedback across thousands of operations. A key step toward error-corrected machines — though it controlled a purpose-built physical system, not arbitrary error correction during a useful computation.
