No Siegel zeros proved in just 3 pages, echoing the polynomial method's history

Math circles are buzzing: a 3-page proof establishes "no Siegel zeros," a long-standing question in analytic number theory. Author jdlichtman notes the proof can be viewed as an instance of the polynomial method.
He adds that the polynomial method itself has a remarkably similar story: the finite field Kakeya conjecture was resolved after many years by a surprisingly compact proof.
