The US Department of Homeland Security has issued a formal order under the Federal Acquisition Supply Chain Security Act requiring all federal civilian executive branch agencies to immediately stop procuring hardware, software and services from Hangzhou DeepSeek AI and its affiliates.
The order also directs agencies to remove all DeepSeek products — and any third-party products built on DeepSeek implementations — from existing government IT systems. The notice was published in the Federal Register, with enforcement handled by CISA's FASCSA order implementation team.
