AWS cuts sign-up friction: SageMaker Studio in minutes with $100 free credits
AWS ML Blog · rss · 2026-10-20
AWS now lets new SageMaker AI customers sign up with Google, GitHub, Apple, Amazon or email in 2-3 steps—no credit card or phone verification for most—and auto-provisions a fully configured SageMaker Studio environment in 20 seconds.
Key points:
- $100 in Free Tier credits (plus a chance to earn $100 more), covering endpoint deployment, model customization, notebooks, and training; usage auto-stops after 6 months or when credits run out
- Builds on earlier launches: environment creation cut from 2 minutes to 20 seconds, pre-configured IAM permissions, and default G5/G6/G4dn GPU access
- Deep links from Hugging Face model pages straight into SageMaker deploy/customize workflows
- Applies only to new AWS accounts; existing users unaffected
