SageCut skill cut Claude video QA cost from $127 to 16 cents per video

Video maker @bigironchris built SageCut, a skill that swaps the LLM out of frame-by-frame QA for a multimodal decision model, Sage (@levantolabs), cutting QA cost on a Claude + Remotion video from $127 to 16 cents.
- Root cause: Claude subagents reviewing every frame burned through his Max plan, adding 4+ hours per video and stretching production to 2 days
- Fix: Sage flags defective frames, and only those go to Opus 5.5 for repair
- Across 6 A/B tests, output quality was identical at 1/10 the cost
He runs 3 Claude plans, has made Remotion videos since early this year, and mixes in BlenderMCP for pro-grade output with minimal babysitting.
