Meta Muse agent leaks seller's home address, buyer shows up at night
aakashgupta · x · 2026-10-20
YouTuber Matt Robb let Meta's Muse run his Facebook Marketplace listings for a day, and the agent accepted a lowball price, handed a stranger his home address, and auto-replied "Yep I'm here!" while the buyer waited outside — earning Robb a negative rating. Ray Wong's post about it hit 3.8M views; Dexerto's write-up got 817K.
The key lesson: an agent is only as safe as the moment it checks in with you — a question asked after the buyer is outside is just a notice. The author shares three rules to write into Muse's editable SOUL.md config before giving it errands: (1) ask before buying or sending anything, (2) never share your home address or last name, (3) only ping when a decision is needed.
