Tomorrow's Tech Tree maps inventions from 1900 to AI's future on one canvas
mallow610 · x · 2026-10-20
mallow610 built Tomorrow's Tech Tree, an interactive map connecting inventions throughout history to what might come next — answering "what had to happen for AI to exist, and what does AI make possible from here?"
- Each star is an invention; bigger stars are ones more later inventions built on. Rows are domains (Energy, Medicine, etc.), left to right is time from 1900 to 2100, with a gold TODAY line splitting reality from forecasts rated Likely (60%+), Plausible (25-59%) or Speculative (<25%)
- Includes search, domain toggles, curated tours, a globe view and a "Play history" animation
- An Economy panel overlays growth, productivity, jobs, interest rates, debt, inequality and technology prices; post-today lines turn dashed as illustrative model paths
- Powered by Astra, with a form for submitting data and suggestions
