AI dev: nobody can explain why there are so many models yet so little value

Reacting to the scoop of a busy release month (new Anthropic model, Gemini 4 Carbon, OpenAI's Terra), developer Gerard Sans argues we shouldn't confuse AI labs' market-grabbing with actual progress or better UX: "I don't think a single person understands why there are so many models yet so little value out of them." 99% of people can't name five AI models, let alone pick between them.
