anshulkundaje · x · 2026-10-20
Stanford computational biologist Anshul Kundaje called out what he described as a "terrible trend" in AI and applied AI: researchers in industry and academia overstating their work. He argued that if you are seriously delivering impactful work, such packaging is "completely unnecessary," that offenders will be called out every time, and that while naive audiences may be fooled, credibility steadily erodes. He urged scientists to cut the practice and "choose wisely."
