Classifier confidence and LLM self-grading mean different things when routing on confidence
colinmcnamara · x · 2026-10-20
A point from Joseph Fluckiger at Austin LangChain: Jev, being a classifier rather than a text generator, produces confidence scores semantically different from an LLM grading its own output. The distinction matters the moment you route on confidence — mixing the two score types breaks routing logic. Directly practical for agent eval and routing pipelines.
