Physical Intelligence opens Pi API beta for fine-tuning frontier robot models

Physical Intelligence opened its Pi API beta: developers can upload data, fine-tune frontier robotic models, and access them via a hosted inference gateway. Early users include Almond/Axol, Chef Robotics, Deft, Ultra, Weave, and Yondu across Japan, Switzerland, and the US. The strategic logic: real-world robotics is hard enough that each vertical requires a whole company — shared foundation models prevent everyone from reinventing physical intelligence from scratch.
