UBI dystopia? "No — UHI will just be the new baseline," says AI commentator

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh called living off Big Tech handouts a dystopian nightmare. DrSingularity disagrees: he wouldn't stop building in an abundance era, but he doesn't find people living comfortably on UBI/UHI dystopian either.
His argument: the welfare floor rises as civilization gets richer — today's homeless at least get food; tomorrow that floor could be $5,000, then $10,000 a month, and thanks to AI/automation-driven deflation could eventually carry the purchasing power of $1 million today, growing over time. People can still build and work — just no longer forced to, for survival.
