VC firm USV announced it is leading a $30M round in Tolan, with Khosla Ventures participating.
Rather than a productivity tool or blank chat box, Tolan is a persistent AI companion: it's there at 3am with a newborn, on an anxious commute, or after finishing a show no friends have seen. Over 250k people will spend time with their Tolan this month, having exchanged billions of messages. Its core users are parents and caregivers — people who want to feel seen and supported in their aspirations rather than optimize their productivity.
