Model saturation data is biased: vendor harnesses muddy capability conclusions
matt_slotnick · x · 2026-10-19
The author argues that vendors' "saturation" claims come from their own offering and customers—covering their harness and deployment model—a biased sample. Overbuilt harnesses have been shown to hurt model capability. Developer traffic metrics also don't equal outcomes or value. As model capability and solution offering become harder to separate, clean comparative data is increasingly unavailable.
