Google AI Mode citations now respect your Preferred Sources settings
BusyNomad · reddit · 2026-10-19
A Reddit user posted screenshots showing that Google AI Mode's citation feature supports the "Preferred Sources" setting: users can designate favored websites so that AI Mode's answers preferentially cite them.
For publishers and SEO practitioners this is a notable signal — citation traffic in the AI search era is now influenced by user preference settings, giving sites an incentive to get added to users' preferred source lists.
