Anthropic: Engineers' New Role Is Saying "No" to Claude — But Who Trains the Next Generation?
sqcai · x · 2026-10-19
Quoting Anthropic's Scion post: engineers remain valuable but their work is shifting — they still own high-level system understanding and design tradeoffs, and "very often, the role of the engineers was to tell Claude 'no.'"
The author raises an open question: where does this judgment come from? Today's engineers were trained through the dirty work; will the next generation, shielded from it by AI, still develop the mental models to make wise tradeoffs?
