Gemini Pro users hit rate limits even on 3.8 Flash: '$22 a month for this?'
Acrobatic-Monitor516 · reddit · 2026-10-19
A Gemini Pro subscriber ($22/month) complains that usage limits have tightened noticeably: a screenshot shows 3.8 Flash, 3.1 Pro, and 4 Argon all displaying "limit resets 19/10 at 17:39" — including the lightweight Flash tier, which previously had no such cap. Argon in fast-thinking mode also burns through quickly.
The user switched from ChatGPT/Claude four months ago specifically because Gemini was more generous, despite rivals being stronger models, and now finds the value proposition hard to accept — a sign Google may be quietly tightening effective subscription quotas.
