Google closes the loop: agents now run real biology lab robots and found a cancer-binding molecule
aigclink · x · 2026-10-19
Google is bringing AI agents into real biology labs, closing the loop from molecule design to robotic execution to analysis. Key pieces: VERID uses a digital twin to link agent instructions with real equipment state and validate physical constraints and reagents; DNA aptamer work lets agents refine designs from real experimental feedback; protein design has already yielded a verified high-affinity binder for a cancer-related target. The goal: AI designs molecules → robots run experiments → real data feeds back → AI iterates, removing the human-verification bottleneck in AI-driven science.
