Microsoft has open-sourced LiteBox, a security-focused library OS (MIT license, 3.2k GitHub stars) positioned as a gVisor alternative. Unlike gVisor, it supports both Linux and Windows, with kernel- and user-mode execution. Developers are already exploring running AI agents inside it with agentgateway as an LLM-facing gateway, using it as a lightweight sandbox for autonomous agents.
